ToggleMy Mother Reading Comprehension
Read the comprehension passage carefully and answer the questions below:
Every morning, my mother wakes up early. She makes breakfast for our family and helps me get ready for school. She reminds me to brush my teeth, wear clean clothes, and pack my school bag. When I feel sleepy or tired, she smiles and encourages me. Her kind words make my day start well.
My mother works hard at home and outside. She cooks tasty food and keeps our house clean. In the afternoon, she helps me with my homework. If I do not understand something, she explains it slowly and kindly. This makes English practice easier for ESL learners like me. I enjoy doing my reading exercise with her because she is patient.
In the evening, my mother listens to my stories about school. She teaches me good manners and tells me to be honest and respectful. When I am sad, she hugs me and makes me feel better. Her love gives me strength and confidence.
At night, my mother reads me a short story before bed. I feel calm and well as I listen. I know she loves me very much, and I love her too. The moral of this passage is simple: we should respect and care for our mothers because they do so much for us every day.
